Structural Steel and Metal Coatings

We’re here to help with your
coatings and refurbishment needs.

Prepare and protect suitable RSJs, beams, trusses and other metalwork with a coating system matched to
the substrate and exposure.

Overview

We assess existing coatings, contamination and corrosion, then define the agreed preparation standard, local repairs or treatment, primer and finish where required. The scope identifies beams, columns, trusses, metal fixtures and access arrangements. Environmental exposure, appearance and maintenance needs inform the specification.

Price and programme

Surface area, steel geometry, corrosion, preparation standard, access, protection and coating build determine price. Structural repairs are separately assessed. Preparation, system drying intervals and site access shape the programme. Inspection and agreed handover information are included in project planning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is anti-corrosion painting the same as fire protection?

No. Decorative or corrosion-protective coatings do not establish a fire rating. An intumescent requirement needs a separately verified design, specification and delivery capability.

Can rust simply be painted over?
The condition and proposed system determine preparation. Loose material and incompatible coatings require attention; the quotation must define the preparation rather than rely on colour coverage alone.
How much does steelwork & anti-corrosion coatings cost?
Surface area, steel geometry, corrosion, preparation standard, access, protection and coating build determine price. Structural repairs are separately assessed. We provide a written quotation for the agreed scope rather than apply one universal rate.
How long will the work take?
Preparation, system drying intervals and site access shape the programme. Inspection and agreed handover information are included in project planning. We confirm the proposed sequence and access arrangements before starting.
What exactly is included in my quotation?
We assess existing coatings, contamination and corrosion, then define the agreed preparation standard, local repairs or treatment, primer and finish where required. The scope identifies beams, columns, trusses, metal fixtures and access arrangements. Environmental exposure, appearance and maintenance needs inform the specification. Items outside that written schedule are not automatically included.
What warranty or aftercare applies?
The quotation and handover information identify applicable cover and care requirements for this service. Duration and exclusions depend on the specified surface and system; cleaning, repair and coating work do not automatically share the same guarantee.
